Here's a review of Upon Arrival.
I don't know how to judge these things (what with the subjectivity factor and all), but I think this is mostly pretty fair and at times downright nice.

Ooh, how exciting! I would definitely say that's positive overall, and the criticism is well thought-out. (Don't necessarily agree with him, but he's not full of shit, which is nice.) I would be delighted to get a review like that. But first, I'd have to write something. You rock.
Thanks, Kate! I agree. The only part that seems maybe arbitrary is the star system, and I don't think I think that solely because I got five of ten stars. (smiley face emoticon here.) Seamus Heaney got five and a half. What? And Marlena Morling's Astoria, which has been HIGHLY recommended to me by two wildly trustworthy sources, got four. And nobody got more than seven on the list I saw. So...
But, gosh, yeah. It does seem like the writer spent some time with the book, and that's really cool.
Crap. I was agreeing about your other comments. Not agreeing that I rock. You rock.
You should agree that you rock!
And I'd forgotten about the star rating by the end of the review. I think telling yourself you're a half-star shy of Seamus Heaney is a good plan.
You both rock. And Upon Arrival is going to be what I give to some peeps for the holidaze .....
